Sacred Heart Community is here to create a home for life, providing security and safety for our residents.
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, effective, and supportive care.
You will be part of a team servicing Sacred Heart Mission's residential facility. Our facility is state-of-the-art and has views all the way out to Luna Park.
A typical day would be:
- Providing personal care to residents within the Aged Care standards
- Delivering care consistent with the Sacred Heart Mission philosophy, including Trauma Informed Care
- Reporting any resident conditions to the Registered Nurse
- Maintaining resident confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Entering information into the Resident Management System
- Administrating medication for residents

Our residents are younger than those you might find at other aged care facilities, but often have mental health challenges or substance dependencies. This role will therefore be less physically demanding because our residents are more physically able.
Who we're looking for
Our ideal candidates will be comfortable managing complex behaviours, with knowledge and compassion. You will also be excited to learn and grow your career in aged care, taking full advantage of the great development opportunities this role offers you.
The successful candidate will have:
- Certificate lll or IV in Aged Care
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Medication competency is preferred but training can also be provided once employed
- Possess a compassionate, caring and supportive nature
- Have a trauma informed approach to care
- Have a genuine interest in and respect towards the unique personality, history and value of our residents
You will show initiative in your work and be enthusiastic about helping people and making their day better.
