Your new role
Reporting to the Manager People and Culture, the Health and Safety Advisor provides advisory services and operational assistance to line managers and staff on workplace health and safety and risk management matters, has key responsibilities in the implementation and ongoing development of SHM’s H&S Framework and and undertakes the Return-to-Work Coordinator role.

Your day-to-day
- Implement our Health & Safety framework and grow our safety culture
- Manage incident reporting and together with the relevant manager ensure action is taken to address the cause
- Prepare and analyse reports to maximise our health & safety initiatives
- Coordinate health & safety assurance activities
- Be an active member of our Health & Safety Committee
- Facilitate injured workers’ swift and effective return to work
- Maintain health & safety policies and procedures
We're looking for someone
- Passionate about growing a health and safety culture with the ability to bring others along the safety journey
- Previous experience in a dedicated Health and Safety role (preferably in the community sector)
- Experienced in providing support, guidance and advice to resolve H&S issues
- Able to interpret and practically apply workplace H&S legislation and codes of practice
- Comfortable with applying a systematic approach to address H & S requirements
- Previous experience as a RTW Coordinator
- Possessing qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety
