Your new role
Business services encompasses finance & payroll, property and maintenance and ICT. Finance and payroll provide the reporting, paying and reconciliation of all the functions as well as compliance, assisting with budget preparations, analysing variances and providing support, and analyses and annual audit and financial accounting functions.
Working full time, you will be part of a team providing the input to prepare the financial reports for Sacred Heart Mission.

Your day-to-day
- Perform daily bank reconciliations
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Resolve accounting and/or accounts issues for either debtors or creditors
- Month end, you will also be involved in costing journals to split income and costs to program areas
- Cost centre analysis and reporting, working closely with the Finance Manager and liaising with department leads
- Ad-hoc analysis and reporting, including deep diving into specific areas of the business to drive further efficiencies and opportunities for improvement
- Assist Finance Manager with month end and annual audit process
The person we're looking for
The successful candidate will be someone:
- Studying to complete an additional certificate (CPA preferred)
- With some general accounting experience is desirable
- Experienced in BC365 accounting software (desirable)
- With advanced MS Excel skills (including ‘VLOOKUP’, pivot tables and ‘sumif’ functions)
- With skills to improve financial performance and productivity in a Not-for-Profit and passionate in assisting people experiencing disadvantage
- With commercial acumen to assist the Finance Manager to build sustainability and long-term viability
- Able to meet deadlines and assist others in the team
- Able to trouble shoot on finance reports with the Finance Manager
- With the ability to learn new technology and automation
