Your new role
Deputy Manager will be working within a Trauma Informed framework and will be responsible for the provision of high quality, effective, clinically skilled, responsive support to adults of various ages with a history of homelessness and/or disadvantage and who may live with mental illness.
The role requires a registered nurse with a current registration, with either a background in mental health or community health and advanced clinical experience. Aged Care experience is essential.
The role requires an astute, independent and proactive approach to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the residents and staff at SHCom

Your day-to-day
- Clinical Care Meetings with RN’s and EEN’s - providing clinical expertise, education and mentorship.
- Managing the clinical and personal care of a diverse range of participants with complex medical and mental health issues
- Assisting with ACFI assessments and working with the manager to improve financial efficiencies
- Identifying, assessing and controlling clinical risks
- Preparing reports for the Quality Manager
- Deputising for the Manager during times of absence

We are looking for someone who
- Can contribute to and uphold the values of the Sacred Heart Community model of care “My Community My Way”
- Has strong leadership skills and experience with supervising staff
- Can proactively liaise with and refer residents to medical and allied health services
- Has current and well developed clinical skills
- Is able to effectively respond to the needs of younger people who live with mental illness and have experienced trauma and homelessness.
- Demonstrates compassion and a commitment to social justice
- Has well developed communication skills and can maintain and foster relationships within SHM and with external aged care, mental health and disability services
