Your new role
Sacred Heart Mission (SHM) is seeking a strategic and experienced professional to lead governance and compliance across our growing and diverse organisation. This newly created role reflects the increasing complexity of the not-for-profit sector and SHM’s commitment to robust governance frameworks and operational excellence.

Your day-to-day
As the Lead, Governance and Compliance at Sacred Heart Mission, your days will be dynamic and varied, with a strong focus on collaboration, strategic oversight, and continuous improvement. You’ll be part of a centre-led team, working across multiple Directorates to strengthen governance and compliance across the organisation.
About You
You are a confident leader with a strategic mindset and a passion for good governance. You bring:
- Extensive experience in governance, legal compliance, and risk management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience in the not-for-profit, aged care or community services sector (highly regarded).
We're looking for someone who can
- Provide governance support across SHM and its subsidiary entities.
- Administer SHM Inc Board Sub-Committees and Working Groups, where required.
- Oversee compliance and legal matters, including managing the Compliance Register.
- Oversee the review and refresh of policies and procedures across SHM and ensure they align with current legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate legal services and manage inter-entity contracts.
- Act as Company Secretary for SHM subsidiaries, maintaining governance documentation and supporting board functions, where required.
- Advise executive leadership on governance and compliance matters.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.
