Major Donor Coordinator

Here's your chance to join a passionate fundraising team within a leading organisation in the homelessness sector in Victoria. You'll contribute directly to an exciting new strategy to serve more people in more communities.

As the Major Donor Coordinator, you will be working closely with the Relationships Manager to manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects through all stages of the donor cycle to grow the organisation's major gift revenue. You'll build strong personal relationships and drive an impactful stewardship program to deliver outstanding results.

Your day-to-day

As the Major Donor Coordinator your goal will be to deepen the connection of current donors through meaningful stewardship whilst working concurrently to cultivate new support to grow Sacred Heart Mission's giving community. A typical day would see you: 

  • Managing and growing a portfolio of major donors, middle donors, and prospects to meet annual fundraising targets. 
  • Creating and organising personalised engagement opportunities. 
  • Collaborating with colleagues across Fundraising, Communications, and Finance to align donor communications, campaign materials, and reporting. 
  • Ensure stewardship that leads to repeat and increased giving, focusing meaningful engagement. 
  • Work in collaboration with the wider Fundraising team to support projects, campaigns and other activities. 

We're looking for someone with

  • Degree level qualification in philanthropy, communications, marketing or a related field.
  • High level interpersonal, communication and presentational skills and ability to engage and interact with donors in a range of situations. 
  • Ability to inspire philanthropic giving, and a passion for the work that Sacred Heart Mission does. 
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects to agreed goals, timelines and budgets.
  • Self-motivation and strong organisational skills including attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage a pressurised workload, especially during peak times such as appeals and events. 

You can look forward to

  • Classification: Social and Community Services Level 4 - $44.37 - $47.75 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications). 
  • Generous leave entitlements including an extra 3 days paid leave during the Christmas/New Year period, wellbeing leave, and 17.5% leave loading.
