Your New Role

 As the Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial sustainability and strategic direction of Sacred Heart Mission. This role encompasses a wide range of financial activities, including overseeing all transactional activities around accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation and the management of the month end reconciliation process.  

This is a full-time position where you will work closely with operational and service areas, providing expert financial insights that drive informed decision-making and ensure alignment with our mission and program growth. 

Your Day-To-Day

  • Managing the month end closing process, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations for all entities.
  • Reporting on cash flow, maintaining and reconciling sub ledgers including client accounts and oversight on correct allocation of Government Funding.
  • Supporting and managing the year end audit, providing insight and structure to effective financial controls and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Leading and supporting direct reports.  
  • Driving finance efficiencies and process automation within the finance workflow and processes. 
  • Providing financial insights and guidance to key stakeholders to inform decision-making.

Essentials for Success

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field along with a CPA/CA. 
  • Strong background in transactional finance with demonstrated experience managing the month end process and external audit program.
  • Ability to interact and engage, with strong emphasis on cross functionally collaboration, bringing your “curious” mindset and strong commitment to being a business partner. Ability to build relationships via your proactive team-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and implement change with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Desirable - Experience in Aged Care and the use of Microsoft Business Central 365.

You Can Look Forward To

  • $95,000- $105,000 p.a (Depending on experience and qualifications) + plus superannuation and 17.5% leave loading. 
  • Salary packaging expenses like your rent, holiday accommodation and dining out: up to $15,990 pre-tax.
