Your New Role
The Journey to Social Inclusion Program (J2SI) is working against chronic homelessness with its innovative housing-first approach, combined with comprehensive, personalised support.
As a Workforce Participation Worker, you'll help improve economic and workforce inclusion outcomes for people who have experienced long-term homelessness. You will support J2SI participants through employment placements, volunteering opportunities, training, and tailored group and individual interventions.
This role is a maximum-term part-time or full-time opportunity, contract ending 31 August 2025.

Your Day-To-Day
As a J2SI Workforce Participation Worker you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting individuals through every phase of their economic participation journey. Your work will include:
- Assisting participants in identifying and working towards employment, training, study, and volunteer opportunities.
- Collaborating with Intensive Case Managers to minimise barriers to economic and social inclusion.
- Building relationships with employment providers, training organisations, and social enterprises to create opportunities for participants.
- Using an outreach model, engaging with participants in the community and their homes to provide tailored employment strategies.
- Providing post-employment support to ensure long-term success in workforce engagement.
Essentials for Success
- Proven ability to support adults with complex needs in achieving workforce and social inclusion goals.
- A trauma-informed approach to supporting participants.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in employment services including job placement, career counselling, skills training (desirable).

- $44.37 - $47.75 per hour (dependent on qualification and experience).
