Your new role
In our state-of-the-art aged care facility located in the heart of St Kilda, Sacred Heart Community supports people by providing a welcoming home for life - ensuring comfort and security. Part of Sacred Heart Community's services is the provision of healthy, high-quality meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning and afternoon tea) to up to 97 residents every day.
We currently have a fantastic opening for both a part-time or full-time Chef where you will play a key role preparing and delivery these meals as well as creating a warm, enjoyable dining experience for our residents.

Your day-to-day
- Preparing and cooking high-quality, nourishing meals for our residents.
- Ensuring residents’ individual dietary needs are met.
- Ensuring all areas of the kitchen are cleaned to the highest standards.
- Providing stock control management, replenishing and ordering stock as required.
- Providing supervision and direction to Kitchen & Laundry Assistants.
We're looking for someone with
- Certificate III qualification or above in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety Certificate (Essential).
- NDIS Workers Clearance Check (Essential).
- Experience in a commercial kitchen environment (aged care preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work strongly within a team.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of diverse and modified dietary requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Most importantly, you will need to be a clear communicator who can maintain a calm and upbeat manner throughout a busy workday. You will be someone; residents can chat with and feel comfortable around.
