Your new role
Join Sacred Heart Central in St Kilda as a Permanent Part-Time Pathways Worker and make a meaningful impact in this role where no two days are the same!
Located in the heart of our programs, you'll engage with individuals who visit our Meals Program and Engagement Hub, and provide them with assessment information, advocacy, crisis intervention, referrals, and a friendly chat.
A key part of your role will be connecting clients to a wide range of internal and external support services, including case management, Sacred Heart Community, Women’s Services, and accommodation options.

Your day-to-day
A typical day involves meeting new clients and conducting assertive engagement. You will be the first point of contact for any of the 250-300 clients who access Sacred Heart Central per day who are wanting to access support so this role requires someone who can listen, understand, and respond to the complex needs of our clients in a holistic way.
We're looking for someone
- With appropriate diploma or degree qualifications relevant to the delivery of community services.
- With experience working in homelessness, mental health and/or community settings.
- With excellent communication skills who collaborates well as part of a team.
- Able to work with complex clients.
- Able to demonstrate de-escalation tactics towards challenging behaviour.
You can look forward to
- A permanent part-time role working Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Pay classification Social and Community Services Employee Level 4 ($44-46 per hour, dependent on experience and qualification).
- Being a part of a small team of supportive workers.
